Evolution FC Welcomes Familiar Foe Ethos United to Round Lake

Round Lake Evolution FC returns to Round Lake High School Stadium on Wednesday night for a UPSL Premier matchup against Ethos United, a club that is familiar to Evo despite competing under a new identity.

Ethos was previously known as United SC, and the two organizations have already crossed paths before. Earlier this year, Evolution’s U23 side faced Ethos in the first match of the new U23 program, adding some familiarity between the clubs before Wednesday’s Premier meeting.

The circumstances are different this time. This is a league match with points at stake, and Evolution enters it looking to settle into the Fall 2026 campaign after an unusual opening stretch.

Evo began the season against Chicago Strikers on August 29 and came away with a 2–1 defeat. The match remained close through the final moments, and Evolution appeared to have found a late equalizer before the goal was ruled out for offside.

The following week’s scheduled road fixture against Berber City created a different situation altogether, with the outcome of that match still awaiting an official league ruling.

That makes Wednesday night an opportunity for Evolution to turn its attention fully back to the field.

Ethos brings a new name into the matchup, but the familiarity between the clubs adds another layer to an important early-season fixture. Evolution will be looking to establish itself at home, put together a complete performance and begin building momentum as the Midwest Central Premier season continues.

The match will also bring Evo back to Round Lake High School Stadium, where the club will once again have the chance to play in front of its home supporters.

Round Lake Evolution FC and Ethos United kick off Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 PM.

Evolution will be looking to make the most of another home match in Round Lake and take an important step forward in the Fall 2026 season.
