Evolution FC Heads to Wisconsin for Familiar Showdown Against TBD FC

Round Lake Evolution FC returns to the road this Saturday, September 19, traveling to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, for an 8:00 PM showdown against TBD FC at Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium.
The Evo enters the contest fresh off Wednesday night's 3–0 victory over Ethos United, a performance that delivered the club's first three points and first clean sheet of the Fall 2026 UPSL Premier Division campaign.
With little time between fixtures, Round Lake now turns its attention to a familiar opponent that has provided some of the club's most entertaining matches in recent seasons.
A History of Dramatic Encounters
The two clubs have developed a history of competitive, high-scoring meetings.
In Spring 2025, Round Lake secured a dramatic 4–3 victory over TBD FC in the regular-season finale, collecting three crucial points and securing a postseason berth.
The clubs met again in Spring 2026 at Round Lake High School Stadium, producing another memorable contest.
Ronaldo "Pipa" Rojas struck twice, while Christian "Chapito" Alvarez added a spectacular goal to put the Evo ahead 3–0.
TBD FC refused to go away quietly.
The visitors responded with two second-half goals, bringing the score to 3–2 and forcing Round Lake to protect its narrow advantage through the final whistle.
The Evo ultimately held on for the victory.
Saturday's meeting marks another chapter in the series, this time with TBD FC hosting the contest on Wisconsin soil.
Evo Arrives With Momentum
Round Lake's most recent performance provided a timely response to its season-opening defeat against Chicago Strikers.
After a scoreless first half against Ethos United on Wednesday, the Evo broke through in the 58th minute when Brian Murgia converted a chance created by Eliam Mier.
Eleven minutes later, captain Matthew Hong connected with Ronaldo Rojas, who doubled Round Lake's advantage.
Jerry Pérez completed the scoring in the 77th minute, reacting to the rebound after his penalty kick was initially saved.
The 3–0 victory was Round Lake's first win of the Fall campaign and provided a confidence boost ahead of Saturday's road test.
"We needed that response after the first game, and the players delivered. But one result doesn't define our season. We have to take that same mentality into Wisconsin, stay organized, and be ready to compete for 90 minutes," said Head Coach Lorenzo Cortez.
With three different players finding the scoresheet against Ethos, the Evo will look to maintain its attacking production while building on Wednesday's defensive performance.
A Difficult Road Test Awaits
TBD FC enters Saturday's matchup following a 2–1 road victory over KS Wisloka Chicago.
The Wisconsin club opened its campaign with a 1–1 draw against Force Football Club before suffering a 2–1 defeat against Ethos Academy Chicago.
That leaves TBD FC with four points from its opening three matches, setting the stage for an important early-season encounter.
For Round Lake, the challenge extends beyond the opposition.
A quick turnaround, an evening kickoff, and a trip across state lines will test the squad's preparation as the Evo looks to build consistency during the Fall campaign.

The Evo will seek to carry Wednesday's momentum into Saturday while respecting a TBD FC side that has already demonstrated its ability to earn points on the road.
Building Toward the Weeks Ahead
Saturday's match comes at an important stage of the Fall campaign.
After splitting its opening two completed fixtures, Round Lake has an opportunity to build on its first victory and continue establishing its identity as the season progresses.
The club's upcoming schedule includes additional road fixtures against Urbana City FC and Force Soccer Club, followed by a home meeting with KS Wisloka Chicago in October.
For now, the focus remains firmly on Saturday night.
